Moving Forward with Intention: BAX Engineering’s Next Chapter

As BAX Engineering enters 2026 – our 45th year of service – we do so with a renewed focus on alignment, communication, and intentional progress.

On January 1, 2026, Dan BAX assumed the role of President, with Jeff Simmons serving as Vice President. Together, we are guiding BAX forward with a clear priority: maintain the standards that have defined our firm for decades, while making thoughtful improvements that support long-term success.

Continuity First

For more than four decades, our firm has earned trust through consistency – dependable project delivery, strong client relationships, and a commitment to quality across residential, commercial, municipal, and surveying work.

That foundation was reinforced under the leadership of longtime President Cliff Heitmann, who guided BAX for 19 years and helped ensure a deliberate, well-planned leadership transition. As we move into this next chapter, continuity remains central. Our clients should expect the same responsiveness, technical expertise, and accountability they have always experienced.

Intentional Progress

While our commitment to clients remains unchanged, we are taking a measured approach to growth and improvement.

In 2026, we are focused on strengthening how we support our people and our work – investing in tools, processes, and professional development that help teams operate efficiently and consistently. These efforts are intentional and disciplined, aimed at reinforcing our ability to deliver high-quality results while adapting to evolving project demands.

Our emphasis is on clarity: clear direction, clear expectations, and clear communication – both internally and externally.

Knowledge, Experience, and Consistency

As part of that focus, we continue to place a strong emphasis on knowledge sharing and consistency in how work is approached and delivered.

The depth of experience within our team is one of BAX Engineering’s greatest assets. We are committed to ensuring that expertise is shared across disciplines and applied consistently across projects, supporting quality, reliability, and thoughtful problem-solving – hallmarks of our work for nearly 45 years.

Aligning How We Show Up

That same intentionality extends to how we present ourselves to the broader community.

A redesigned website is currently underway, with improvements focused on better reflecting our capabilities, project experience, and the people behind the work.

The goal is clarity – making it easier for clients, partners, and future employees to understand who we are and what we bring to each project.

We are also taking a more consistent approach to our brand presence, ensuring our communications reflect the same professionalism and reliability clients experience firsthand. These efforts support recruiting, business development, and community engagement while remaining true to our values.

Looking Ahead

As BAX Engineering moves through 2026, our focus remains steady: continue delivering dependable civil engineering and surveying services while strengthening the foundation for the future.

Some things will evolve. Others will remain exactly the same.

What will not change is our commitment to serving clients and communities with experience, accountability, and care.

This next chapter is about moving forward with intention – building on a strong legacy while preparing thoughtfully for what comes next.
